History & heritage

King's College London is one of England's oldest universities, founded in 1829 by King George IV and the Duke of Wellington. From its home on the Strand — on the north bank of the Thames — King's has shaped medicine, law and the humanities for almost two centuries, and counts twelve Nobel laureates among its community. Its position at the very centre of legal and cultural London makes the city itself part of the classroom.
