Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your booking with A World Academy. Please read them carefully before securing a place. Our legal pages are provided in English, which is the binding language. Last updated June 2026.

1. About us & these terms

A World Academy (“we”, “us”) operates residential summer and winter academies for teenagers, hosted on the campuses of leading universities in London and internationally (Singapore, Milan and Spain). By submitting a booking and paying a deposit, the student and their parent/legal guardian (“you”) accept these terms.

2. Booking & deposit

A place is secured only once a non-refundable deposit of £750 (or the equivalent in the programme currency) has been received. Bookings are accepted on a first-come basis and are subject to availability and to the student meeting the age and eligibility requirements for the chosen programme.

3. Fees & balance payment

The remaining balance of the programme fee is due no later than six (6) weeks before the programme start date, payable through your secure portal. Where a booking is made within six weeks of the start date, the full fee is payable immediately. Fees are quoted in GBP, USD or EUR depending on the programme and are inclusive of accommodation, meals, tuition, materials, excursions and pastoral care, as listed on the programme page.

4. Cancellation & refunds

The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances. If you cancel after paying the balance, refunds (excluding the deposit) are provided on the following basis: more than 8 weeks before start — balance refunded in full; 4–8 weeks — 50% of the balance; less than 4 weeks — no refund. Cancellations must be made in writing to info@aworldacademy.com. We strongly recommend appropriate travel and cancellation insurance.

5. Changes or cancellation by us

In the unlikely event that we must cancel a programme, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund including the deposit. We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the timetable, faculty, excursions or host campus where necessary, without materially reducing the quality of the programme.

6. Student conduct

Students are expected to follow our Student Code of Conduct and the reasonable instructions of our staff at all times. We reserve the right to dismiss, without refund, any student whose behaviour endangers themselves or others, or seriously breaches our rules. Any reasonable costs arising from a dismissal (including early return travel) are the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

7. Safeguarding & welfare

The welfare of every student is our highest priority. All staff are background-checked (DBS or equivalent), pastoral teams supervise students 24/7, and supervision ratios are tiered by age. Our full safeguarding policy is available on request.

8. Health, medical & dietary needs

You must disclose all relevant medical, dietary and accessibility needs at the time of booking via the portal. We cater for halal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan and allergy requirements. By booking, you consent to us obtaining emergency medical treatment for the student where you cannot be reached.

9. Travel, visas & insurance

International students travelling to the UK typically require a Standard Visitor Visa. On enrolment we provide a formal invitation letter to support the application; visa fees are not included. Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is mandatory for all students and is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

10. Accuracy of information & documents

You are responsible for ensuring that all information and documents you provide (passport, photo, medical and dietary forms) are accurate and uploaded by the deadlines we specify. We are not liable for consequences arising from incomplete or inaccurate information.

11. Photography & media

We may take photographs or video during programmes for educational and promotional purposes. You may withdraw consent for the use of a student’s image at any time by writing to us.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with a booking shall not exceed the fees paid for that booking. We are not liable for losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

13. Data protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data-protection law. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store full card details.

14. Independent provider

A World Academy is an independent education provider. We use university campus facilities and residences under partnership agreements and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a department of any host university.

15. Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Questions about these terms can be sent to info@aworldacademy.com or A World Academy, 555–557 Cranbrook Road, Gants Hill, Ilford, Essex IG2 6HE, United Kingdom.
