UK Visa Process Guide

Most international students travelling to our London academy will need a UK Standard Visitor Visa. This guide explains the process step by step and how A World Academy supports your application. Last updated June 2026.

Which visa do I need?

Short residential summer and winter courses are covered by the UK Standard Visitor Visa, which allows study for up to 6 months. Students from many countries can visit the UK without a visa for short stays — check the UK government's official guidance for your nationality before applying.

When to apply

You can apply up to 3 months before you travel. We recommend applying as early as possible — at least 6–8 weeks before the programme start date — to allow for processing times, which vary by country.

Our invitation letter

Once a place is secured with a deposit, we issue a formal letter of acceptance and invitation, available instantly in your parent portal. This confirms the student's enrolment, the dates, the campus and that accommodation and welfare are provided — exactly what the visa application requires.

Documents you'll typically need

• A valid passport. • Our letter of acceptance/invitation. • Evidence of funds to cover the trip. • Details of accommodation (covered by our letter). • For minors, a letter of consent from the parent/guardian and details of travel arrangements.

Travelling as a minor

Students under 18 travelling alone should carry a signed parental-consent letter and the contact details of their A World Academy welfare lead. We arrange supervised airport transfers on arrival and departure.

We're here to help

While we cannot submit the application on your behalf, our admissions team is happy to answer questions and provide any supporting documentation you need. Email info@aworldacademy.com and we'll guide you through it.
